Free Law Firm Local SEO & Website Audit

Get a 0–100 score for your website and Google Business Profile, most urgent fixes first. Takes about a minute.

Automated scan of public pages and your public Google Business Profile. JavaScript-heavy sites may score some checks low even when the content exists.

The top of an audit report: overall score 73 out of 100 with the band 'Solid, gaps to close', next to counts of 8 failing, 9 warning, and 14 passing checks.
The verdict: a 0–100 score, banded, with every check counted.

How it works

  • Paste your web address. Just the domain is fine. Want your Google Business Profile graded too? Add your Google Maps link.
  • We scan what a search engine sees. The tool reads your homepage, finds your practice-area pages through your own navigation, and pulls your public Google profile.
  • You get a score and a fix list. A 0–100 score across 31 checks, most urgent problems at the top. The scoring method is printed on every report.

What the audit covers

  • Technical SEO. HTTPS, indexability, titles, descriptions, canonicals, schema, sitemap, robots.txt. Eleven checks on every page we read. Boring, and the reason good content sometimes ranks nowhere.
  • Your homepage. We check whether it names your practice and city where Google looks first, links out to your practice areas, shows your address and phone, and says enough to compete.
  • Your practice-area pages. The pages that win searches like "car accident lawyer near me". We find yours automatically and grade each one: title, heading, depth, a phone number, a clear next step, and a link to the attorney behind the work.
  • Your Google Business Profile. Primary category, reviews, rating, recency, photos, hours, website link. On local searches your profile competes before your website does, so it carries a quarter of your score.
The report's 'most urgent problems' list: review volume, meta description, and business schema, each with what it costs.
Your three most urgent problems, ranked by what they cost you.
The report's domain authority block: 31 out of 100, attributed to Ahrefs Domain Rating, with a plain-English explanation.

We also pull your Domain Rating from Ahrefs, so you can see whether a weak backlink profile is holding the whole site back.

Every issue, explained in detail

Each check lands in one of three states. Anything short of a pass tells you what we looked for, why it matters with the study behind it, and which pages it affects, ready to hand to whoever fixes it.

Failing

Costing you leads right now. These sort to the top of your fix list.

A failing check from the report: Phone on page, affecting 2 of 3 pages, citing that 56% of legal conversions happen by phone, with the source linked.

Warning

Working against you quietly. Worth fixing once the failures are gone.

A warning check from the report: Links to an attorney profile, flagged on 1 of 3 pages, citing that 70% of legal consumers research the attorney online.

Passing

Already right. Passing checks collapse out of the way so the report stays scannable.

A passing check from the report: Primary category set to Personal Injury Attorney, shown as a compact green row.

What this audit won't tell you

This is an execution audit. It grades how well your site and profile follow the practices that win local search, and it's strict about them. It won't tell you which keywords to go after, how you stack up against the firm across town, or what to write next. That's strategy work, it depends on your market, and no instant scan does it honestly.

If you want to learn the manual method, start with keyword research for law firms. If you'd rather someone did it with you, that's what our law firm SEO service is for.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. The scan and the on-screen report ask for nothing. If you want the full page-by-page report emailed as a PDF, that's when we ask for your email, and we only use it for your audit and your SEO.

What exactly gets checked?

31 checks across four areas: technical SEO, your homepage, your practice-area pages, and your Google Business Profile, plus your Ahrefs Domain Rating. The full list and scoring method are printed on every report.

Do you check keyword rankings?

No. This audit grades execution against local SEO best practices. Keyword strategy needs real research into your market, which is what we do on a strategy call. Our keyword research guide shows the manual method.

How is this different from a generic SEO checker?

Generic tools don't know what a practice-area page is, which category your Google profile should carry, or that most legal clients call instead of filling out a form. Every check here is weighted with legal search data. Not a law firm? Use our general website SEO audit instead.

Is my information safe?

We only read public pages and your public Google profile, the same things anyone can open in a browser. Your report gets a private link that only you can share.

Can I run it again after fixing things?

One free scan per domain per month. Fix what the report flags, come back, and the score should move. If you'd rather not wait, reach out and we'll re-run it with you.
